Microsoft Quick Assist
Start with screen sharing. If hands-on help is needed, approve a separate request for mouse and keyboard control.
Open Quick AssistOpens the Windows app. If nothing opens, press Ctrl + Windows + Q, or search for Quick Assist in Start. Install it from Microsoft Store if needed.
- Enter your technician’s codeUse the 6-digit code in Quick Assist, then select Submit.
- Allow screen viewingApprove the connection in the app. Your technician can now see your screen.
- Choose whether to allow controlWhen your technician requests control, accept only if you want them to use your mouse and keyboard.
You can stop at any timeChoose Cancel control to revoke control, or Leave to end the session.

Chrome Remote Desktop
Use Google’s remote support service in Chrome. Sign in to Google and install its desktop helper if prompted.
Open Google Remote SupportOpens a new tab. Approving Share grants full access to your computer, including apps and files. This is not a separate view-only session.
- Generate a one-time codeUnder Get Support, complete setup and select Generate Code.
- Give the code to your technicianShare it during your support call. Confirm the technician’s Google email address before approving.
- Approve accessSelect Share in Google’s prompt when you are ready to allow screen viewing and remote control.
You can stop at any timeChoose Stop Sharing in Chrome Remote Desktop to disconnect your technician.
